A direct-hire opportunity exists for an FPGA Engineer to join a company developing tactical communication products. This role is Onsite Only, based in Rochester, NY, located in Upstate New York on Lake Ontario, 60 miles from Niagara Falls. Relocation Assistance Available, and US Citizenship Required. What you’ll do

• Design, verify, and test modem/signal processing-based FPGA firmware for radio communication systems
• Work in a cross-functional team environment as an FPGA developer/verification engineer
• Analyze requirements and create FPGA specifications and development plans
• Create FPGA verification and test plans
• Code firmware designs in VHDL
• Code test benches in System Verilog
• Verify designs meet requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and minimum 9 years of prior related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years of prior related experience in FPGA development
• Experience developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC based embedded system solutions
• Experience in FPGA/ASIC development using VHDL or Verilog
• Experience in FPGA/ASIC verification using System Verilog
• Experience integrating FPGA firmware on hardware
• Experience with FPGA vendor-specific implementation tools (Vivado/Quartus/Libero)
• Experience working in a Linux based development environment
• US Citizenship Required
• Preferred: Experience with MatLab, Simulink, or similar digital signal processing (DSP) modelling tools
• Preferred: Experience in communication system signal processing theory and waveform design
• Preferred: Experience with TCL or Python scripting languages
• Preferred: Working knowledge and experience in implementation and testing of MODEM RF designs
• Preferred: Experience with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
• Preferred: Working knowledge and experience with vendor-specific FPGA verification tools (Mentor Questa, Visualizer)
