Data Privacy Associate Attorney (Multi-City)

A leading Southeastern law firm is seeking a Data Privacy Associate Attorney to join its growing Data Privacy & Cybersecurity practice. The role is hybrid, with a preferred location of Charlotte, NC, and additional location options in Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg, SC; and Washington, D.C. • Draft, review, and negotiate data privacy and data security provisions in commercial agreements, including vendor, SaaS, licensing, and other technology-related contracts
• Advise clients on privacy compliance, data governance, and cybersecurity issues
• Collaborate closely with partners and senior associates on day-to-day transactional privacy matters
• Monitor and analyze developments in data privacy laws and regulations impacting commercial transactions

• 2-4 years of substantive data privacy and cybersecurity experience in a sophisticated law firm setting
• Experience advising on data privacy, data security, and technology-related matters
• Background drafting and negotiating privacy and data security provisions in commercial and technology agreements
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulatory frameworks affecting commercial transactions
• CIPP certification(s) preferred
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in business development activities, including speaking engagements and client-facing initiatives

• Expected base salary range of $190,000-$310,000, determined by experience and market factors
