Job description
We are looking for a skilled embedded software engineer who will work on creating secure firmware platforms for low-power secure IoT devices (RFID readers, indoor location devices, wearables) including working with secure elements and a variety of RF technologies (BLE, NFC, UWB, Wi-Fi and more)., As our Senior Firmware Engineer, youâll support HIDâs success by:
- Designing and implementing of new secure embedded firmware applications in C
- Preparing source code documentation
- Preparing, presenting, and participating in technical discussions and code reviews
- Analyzing and evaluating software requirements; collaborating with colleagues and customers to gather and define product requirements
- Assisting in product design and architecture development
- Proactively providing status, raising issues, and communicating necessary information to appropriate team members on a regular basis
- Developing test fixtures in C and higher-level Object-Oriented language (e.g. C# or Python)

Requirements
- 3+ years of software development with experience in embedded microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, etc.)
- Excellent programming and debugging skills in the C programming language
- Familiarity with source code management, bug tracking, project planning, and continuous integration tools
- Assembly language knowledge
- Any higher-level language knowledge (e.g. C# or Python)
- Experience with secure elements
- Embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.)
- Proficiency in communication protocols (I2C, SPI, ISO7816/14443, NFC, BLE, etc.)
- Applied cryptography knowledge
