Job description

We are currently working with an innovative technology company based in Liege, specialising in advanced image processing and imaging systems. They are looking to strengthen their R&D team with an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer.

This role is particularly suited to an engineer with a strong background in low-level embedded software, firmware and bare-metal development, who enjoys working close to the hardware and contributing to technically challenging products.

You will work closely with the hardware and R&D teams to develop, integrate and optimise embedded software for sophisticated imaging systems., * Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++

Develop software for STM32 and other microcontroller-based platforms
Work on bare-metal and low-level embedded development
Develop and integrate firmware with electronic hardware
Work closely with hardware engineers throughout the development lifecycle
Debug and troubleshoot software at both hardware and firmware level
Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
Optimise embedded software for performance, reliability and resource constraints
Support hardware/software integration and validation
Contribute to the development of new and existing imaging technologies

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
Strong C and/or C++ programming skills
Solid experience with microcontroller development
Strong bare-metal / firmware development experience
Experience with STM32 or comparable microcontrollers
Good understanding of hardware/software interfaces and embedded systems
Experience debugging embedded systems at a low level
Embedded Linux is a plus
French-Speaking is a preference
