Annelies Zwarts Jouw profiel als AI Developer AI DeveloperLocation: Remote you must be based in the NetherlandsEmployment: Full-timeLanguage: EnglishStage: Early-stage startupBuild the AI from the ground upWe are building a new AI-driven technology company from the ground up and we’re looking for our first AI Developer.This is not a role where you join an established engineering team and receive a neatly defined backlog.You will be one of the first people building the company.That means working directly with the founders and the people behind the product, making architectural decisions together, experimenting with ideas, writing the first versions of systems, breaking things, rebuilding them and figuring out what actually works.We are looking for someone who wants that level of ownership.What we’re buildingOur approach to AI is heavily influenced by mathematics, algebra, logic and relationships between data.We are interested in building AI systems that are extremely fast and efficient, with a strong emphasis on understanding how information can be correlated, related and represented logically.Rather than treating everything as a black box, we want to explore how mathematical and logical structures can be used to build powerful AI systems.We also believe strongly in open-source development and building technology that can be understood, extended and improved.Your roleAs our AI Developer, you will work across the entire technical stack.You will:

• Build AI and backend systems from the ground up.
• Work extensively with PHP.
• Work alongside Golang developers and contribute where needed.
• Design and implement systems for connecting, correlating and relating information.
• Work with mathematical and logical concepts to solve complex engineering problems.
• Develop algorithms and systems where performance and speed are critical.
• Think about how data and system states can be locked, unlocked, changed and recovered without unnecessary data loss.
• Work on APIs, backend architecture and core infrastructure.
• Experiment with different approaches to AI and determine what actually works.
• Contribute to open-source projects and technologies.
• Make architectural decisions together with the founding team.
• Help define the engineering culture and technical direction of the company.This is a first-hire roleBeing the first AI Developer means something very different here.You won’t just be implementing someone else’s technical vision.You will help create it.You will work directly with the founders and have a significant influence on:

• Professional experience with PHP.
• Strong analytical and mathematical thinking.
• A background in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a comparable quantitative field.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and logical problem solving.
• Genuine interest in AI and how AI systems work under the hood.
• Comfortable working independently in an early-stage environment.
• Able to communicate clearly in English.Nice to have
• Experience with Golang.
• Experience building AI/ML systems.
• Experience with mathematical modelling or algebra.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets.
• Open-source contributions.
• Experience designing APIs or backend infrastructure.
