Clinical Systems Specialist - Band 7

2 year contract.

• Position will be offered as a secondment if coming from an NHS organisation.
• Position will be offered as a fixed term contract if coming from outside organisation.

This is an exciting time to join the Essex ICB IT team. Digital and IT are a key pillar of the NHS plan and this role will help shape a the clinical system optimisation and training across Essex. You will supporting the ICB and the GP sites, helping them get the most out of their clinical systems.

This is a great opportunity for you to develop a innovate clinical system training platform and assist practices and ICB staff with clinical system training and support (predominantly SystmOne, but there is some EMIS). You will be supporting practices through clinical system mergers and migrations and will be on hand to offer subject matter expertise. This role will be key in helping the practices deliver excellent care for their patients.

Be passionate about primary care and digital tools

Be an expert in the use of primary care clinical system tools, namely SystmOne, EMIS and Medicus

Be able to plan, manage and provide onsite support for clinical system migrations

Work with practices providing clinical system expertise and training during clinical system mergers, practice closures or when new practices are opened

Be a confident clinical systems training provider, delivering face to face and virtual training to ICB and general practice staff

Be comfortable working with staff at all levels and GPs and practice staff

Develop a new, innovative clinical system training platform, making it easy use and keeping up to date with all the updates and changes being made to the systems

Have a general understanding of the associated clinical systems that may be linked into the general practice clinical system, such as pathology platforms

Be on-hand to deal with day to day problems the ICB and practice staff might be experiencing with their system, helping them to troubleshoot

Be familiar with and provide support for the electronic referral service (eRS)

Be a proactive individual who is always looking to improve the services we provide and spot problems on the horizon before they become an issue.
