The Extra-Curricular Technology Mentor serves as the school-based technology support and training liaison for staff and students. This position provides assistance with device management, troubleshooting, technology integration, staff training, and onboarding support for new employees. The Technology Mentor works collaboratively with school administrators, county technology personnel, teachers, and students to ensure technology resources are effectively utilized to support teaching and learning.

The mentor will assist with onboarding by sharing essential knowledge of school and district policies, procedures, processes, technology systems, and job responsibilities. - Provide support and training to staff members new to the school.
- Assist with onboarding by sharing information regarding district procedures, technology systems, policies, and job responsibilities.
- Provide staff development and professional learning opportunities for teachers, administrators, and service personnel to increase knowledge and familiarity with available technology resources.
- Model effective technology integration strategies that support and enhance teaching and learning.
- Assist teachers and administrators in planning, implementing, and evaluating technology-integrated lessons and instructional practices.
- Provide guidance and support to schools in enhancing instruction through the effective use of technology.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth related to curriculum programs, instructional best practices, and technology integration.

Remain current on emerging technologies and serve as a technology resource for the school and district. Device Management and Technical Support
- Distribute and collect student devices at the beginning and end of each school year.
- Monitor, inventory, and maintain records for all student and staff devices.
- Maintain detailed logs of device assignments, repairs, replacements, warranties, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor and maintain supplemental technology resources, including headphones, microphones, chargers, and related equipment.
- Serve as the school’s first point of contact for basic technology issues involving staff and student devices.
- Work collaboratively with county technology personnel to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Document repair requests and technology concerns using the district’s work-order system, Operations Hero.
- Communicate technology needs and priorities through Operations Hero to assist county technology personnel in prioritizing repairs and support requests.

Follow up on submitted work orders and ensure timely communication regarding device status. Technology Systems and Account Management
- Assist with the development and maintenance of online grading and communication systems used to inform parents and students of classroom activities, grades, and assignments.
- Facilitate the effective use of district-supported technology platforms including Renaissance, Apptegy, Office 365, WVDE platforms, and other instructional resources.
- Assist with managing teacher and student accounts, password issues, and technology access concerns.
- Oversee required parental permissions, training, documentation, and maintenance related to Office 365 student accounts.

Support internet safety initiatives and ensure required documentation and compliance measures are maintained. School and District Technology Leadership
- Assist with county and school website publication initiatives that promote curriculum, school activities, and community engagement.
- Assist with annual county technology needs assessments and the development of the county technology plan.
- Serve as a member of district and county professional development committees as assigned.
- Support alignment of technology initiatives with district goals, state initiatives, and school improvement efforts.
- Provide support for benchmark assessments and technology-related testing needs.
- Assist with Math Field Day activities at both the school and county levels.

Participate in technology-related meetings, training sessions, and district initiatives as requested. Additional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of current educational technologies and the ability to integrate technology into curriculum and instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of research-based instructional strategies and resources.
- Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver effective training for school personnel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with and knowledge of educational technology integration tools and resources.
- Proficient in electronic presentations and electronic communication technologies.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot common technology issues and support instructional technology initiatives.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff, and district information.
