GIS Technician*

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of GIS Technician in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status.** Under general supervision, performs high quality data entry of vector and attribute data into the GIS database. Also performs technical work gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data associated with the Geographic Information System, and performs related duties as assigned.

• Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in GIS or related field, or two years of experience performing GIS duties utilizing GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS desktop suite
• Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483

Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on separate list(s), which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees, the separate list(s) may be utilized. Salary and Benefits:
