Next.js / NestJS Engineer, Claude

We’re looking for an experienced JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer with strong hands-on experience across Next.js, NestJS to join us on a short-term contract and help build and improve an Android fitness app.

This is an opportunity to work on a fast-moving, product-led application with a strong focus on AI-assisted development, modern JavaScript engineering and efficient delivery workflows.

You’ll be joining at an important stage of the product, so we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, work independently and deliver high-quality features quickly.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and improving features for an Android fitness app using Next.js and NestJS.
• Working across the TypeScript stack, including APIs, integrations and application architecture.
• Collaborating remotely with the product and engineering team to deliver outcomes quickly.
• Using Claude, agentic workflows and AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving.
• Helping shape pragmatic technical decisions across the frontend, backend and mobile stack.
• Contributing to a clean, maintainable and scalable codebase during a short, focused engagement.

• Strong commercial experience as a JavaScript or TypeScript Engineer.
• Excellent hands-on experience with Next.js and NestJS.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, backend services and modern web application architecture.
• Proven experience building and shipping Android mobile apps.
• Familiarity with Claude, agentic development approaches and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote contract role.
• Comfortable delivering quickly in a startup or product-led environment.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to engineering and technical decision-making.

Contract: 1 month initially Rate: £500 per day Location: Fully remote Status: Outside IR35
