Staff AI Engineer (Data & Intelligence function)

This role will focus on building production AI capabilities that help translate customer and system data into actionable intelligence. You will work across data, engineering, and product-oriented partners to design retrieval, inference, and workflow solutions that are reliable, cost-aware, and ready for real-world use., * Write and deploy production AI code on a daily basis

• Lead development of rapid customer context retrieval across multiple data processing strategies
• Build the inference layer to process signals and provide actionable insights
• Transform detected conditions into actionable workflows for user engagement
• Select appropriate models for different workloads, balancing performance and cost
• Oversee evaluation metrics for AI systems to ensure reliability before action
• Establish best practices for other teams to follow in their AI work

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in production AI/ML systems
• Strong programming fundamentals with proficiency in Python and other languages for AI and data work
• Fluency in managing data at scale with advanced SQL and transformation tools like dbt
• Experience in production-level retrieval and context engineering, including vector search and graph retrieval
• Skill in building agentic systems with workflows informed by human interaction, using tools like Temporal and LangGraph
• Expertise in evaluation and observability for AI systems, including tracing and dataset-driven testing
• Cloud deployment skills, particularly with AWS and containerized services, managing inference costs
