Reliability Engineer

My client is seeking a Reliability Engineer to drive the reliability, performance, and maintainability of advanced rail transportation systems and electronic equipment. This role focuses on analyzing product and system performance, identifying reliability risks, implementing corrective actions, and supporting the development and lifecycle management of power electronics

• Develop and execute reliability plans for new and existing products.
• Perform reliability predictions, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and root cause investigations.
• Analyze field failure data, warranty claims, and service reports to identify trends and reliability concerns.
• Define reliability metrics, targets, and performance indicators.
• Support Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead structured root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, and CAPA.
• Investigate component, subsystem, and system-level failures.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product performance and durability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve recurring reliability and quality issues.
• Prepare reliability reports, technical documentation, and engineering recommendations.
• Maintain reliability databases and performance tracking systems.
• Support compliance with applicable industry, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Present findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and project teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product engineering, quality engineering, or a related field.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
• Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis, and reliability growth methodologies.
• Experience in rail rolling stock is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of reliability principles, statistical analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
