Reporting to the Base Maintenance Services Manager, the Technical Services Engineer, based in Brussels (H40), provides crucial technical support for base maintenance in two TUI hangars (Luton (H61) and Brussels (H40)), offering solutions beyond standard manuals to ensure aircraft compliance and performance. ABOUT THE JOB Reporting to the Base Maintenance Services Manager, the Technical Services Engineer provides crucial technical support for base maintenance in two TUI hangars (Luton (H61) and Brussels (H40)), offering solutions beyond standard manuals to ensure aircraft compliance and performance.
- Provide advanced technical support to evaluate, prepare, and propose fully engineered aircraft structural repair schemes that exceed SRM allowable damages and SRM repair instructions.
- Provide technical guidance and work instructions to base maintenance staff in implementing structural repairs.
- Stay updated on OEM structural issues and incorporate necessary improvements into local repair processes.
- Review planned work requirements for incoming structural tasks, ensuring efficient planned maintenance inputs identifying man hours, parts, specialised tooling and local capabilities.
- Collaborate with other engineering departments and airlines during heavy maintenance checks, ensuring compliance and check schedules are maintained.
- Being part of the team’s weekly on-call rota to cover AOG situations at weekends and evenings to support base maintenance activities.
- Audit structural repair certification and compile necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Community: Get involved with incredible local charity and sustainability initiatives like the TUI Care Foundation., * Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Airline Maintenance environment with expertise in aircraft structural repairs.
- Aircraft maintenance engineer’s license or degree/HND in Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in developing aircraft repairs using the Structural Repair Manual.
- Excellent communication and IT skills, Familiarity with Office suite, AMOS, Adobe, and drawing software packages.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations including NAA, Part M, CAMO, and Part 145, ensuring compliance and safety standards.
