IT Manager, Data Center Operations & Network Engineering

Apex Systems is seeking an IT Manager, Data Center Operations & Network Engineering for a healthcare organization. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of the organization’s on-premises data centers, colocation facilities, enterprise network infrastructure, telecommunications services, and cloud-connected environments. The IT Manager will lead teams responsible for data center operations, network engineering, disaster recovery, infrastructure services, and technology modernization initiatives to ensure highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient technology platforms that support business-critical operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading enterprise infrastructure teams, managing complex network environments, overseeing data center operations, driving disaster recovery readiness, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to align infrastructure capabilities with organizational objectives.

Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of infrastructure leadership experience and 3+ years of supervisory experience. Experience managing enterprise-owned data centers and/or colocation facilities in highly available environments. Strong expertise in enterprise networking technologies including routing and switching, firewalls, WAN and SD-WAN, VPN, load balancing, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, wireless networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity. Experience overseeing network architecture, infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, business continuity initiatives, and major incident response. Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure budgets, telecommunications providers, internet service providers, hardware vendors, managed service partners, contracts, and technology projects.

Working knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery solutions, monitoring platforms, and IT service management practices. Experience with Azure networking and hybrid cloud infrastructure. Strong leadership, coaching, analytical, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to communicate complex infrastructure risks and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Preferred Certification/Registration: CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, ITIL, or comparable industry certifications preferred.
