System Architect

We’re looking for a System Architect to help shape the modernization roadmap - from current-state assessment through cloud strategy and implementation planning, * Partner with Information System Director to define modernization strategy (rehost/replatform/replace, monolith vs. microservices, on-prem vs. cloud)

• Assess the current application and infrastructure landscape, identify gaps, and flag in-flight projects
• Build a short- and long-term architectural roadmap for application and infrastructure modernization
• Evaluate hybrid multi-cloud approaches (Azure, AWS) for security, innovation, and speed to value
• Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership, business owners, and vendors across the organization
• Support disaster recovery planning and ensure alignment with security/compliance standards
• Lead workshops and knowledge-transfer sessions with stakeholders

• 10+ years leading large, complex transformation/modernization projects
• 10+ years in IT (application support, design, analysis, or project management)
• 3+ years in state/local government within the last 7 years, working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
• Current PMP certification
• Formal architecture certification (TOGAF or equivalent)
• ITIL knowledge
