Job description

Our electronics manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their engineering team, with a focus on PCB/PCBA Flying Probe Test (FPT) within a high-reliability ATE manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for developing and optimising test solutions, supporting production and resolving complex electronic test and manufacturing issues., * Develop, program and optimise Flying Probe Test (FPT) solutions.

Maximise test coverage across complex PCB assemblies.
Support ATE and Probe Card Analyser (PCA) systems.
Investigate and resolve faults through to component level.
Develop and maintain test programmes, procedures and controls.
Support NPI, production and quality investigations.
Identify improvements to test coverage, reliability and production performance.
Support the introduction of new test equipment and technologies.
Provide technical support and mentoring to production and junior engineering team members.

Requirements

Ideally a degree or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline or an HND with relevant industry experience.
Experience in electronics/component testing.
Experience with Flying Probe Test, ATE and/or Probe Card Analysers is great but not essential.
Knowledge of PCB CAD/CAM data extraction and test-program generation.
Strong schematic and PCB layout interpretation skills.
Proven component-level fault finding and debugging experience.
Experience in NPI and high-mix/low-volume electronics manufacturing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing best practice.
