Design Engineer

As a Design Engineer, you’ll be entrusted with managing multiple projects simultaneously, transforming customer requirements and fire strategies into innovative, compliant, and high-quality system designs.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to influence project outcomes, solve technical challenges, and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders throughout the design process., * Develop fire alarm and smoke ventilation system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies

• Produce design specifications and supporting technical documentation
• Carry out engineering calculations to validate system performance and compliance
• Create and revise detailed AutoCAD drawings and design packages
• Maintain accurate project documentation and design status records
• Provide technical support and respond to customer design queries
• Attend project handover meetings and collaborate with internal teams
• Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions
• Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

This role would particularly suit a graduate engineer or someone with around one year’s industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. • Degree-qualified or completed an engineering apprenticeship
• Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D design
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical and natural smoke control systems
• Experience with car park smoke clearance systems
• Understanding of fire detection and alarm systems
• Experience within electrical, HVAC, or building services design (desirable)
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), controls theory, and control systems
