Job description

The Hardware Insertion Technician supports a growing manufacturing team by installing hardware components into fabricated metal parts in alignment with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and established quality standards. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. Responsibilities

  • Install hardware components, including PEM nuts, studs, standoffs, inserts, and fasteners into fabricated metal parts according to specifications.
  • Operate hardware insertion presses and related production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions to determine hardware requirements and installation methods.
  • Verify hardware type, size, location, and placement to ensure full compliance with engineering and customer specifications.
  • Perform visual and dimensional quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials, hardware, or production issues to appropriate team members.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, material handling, and other production processes as needed to support overall workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams to achieve daily production goals and support continuous improvement.
  • Follow established quality control and quality assurance practices to meet manufacturing standards.

This role operates in a manufacturing setting within a fast-paced, hands-on metal fabrication environment. You will work around hardware insertion presses and other production equipment, with regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and moving machinery. Noise levels range from moderate to high, and you will spend most of the shift standing and walking, with frequent lifting up to 35 pounds, as well as reaching, grasping, bending, and repetitive hand movements. The environment follows established safety and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.   • Comfort working in a hands-on mechanical and fabrication setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production environments.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with hardware insertion equipment and PEM hardware.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
  • Background in quality control or quality assurance within a production or food industry setting.
  • Understanding of metal fabrication processes and production workflows.
  • Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds safely.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to perform frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
