Job description
- Design, build, integrate, and maintain secure backend services and APIs supporting mobile, web, enterprise, and partner systems.
- Design for performance, reliability, resiliency, observability, quality, and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver sustainable technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to support reliable delivery.
- Apply secure coding, data protection, and engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot production defects, performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and complex service dependencies.
- Refactor code and conduct peer reviews to improve security, quality, readability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, and proof-of-concepts that support architectural decisions.
- Support services across testing, deployment, production troubleshooting, and continuous operational improvement.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for adaptive planning, automation, reusable solutions, and continuous improvement.
- Share knowledge and support the development of less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Strong Java experience, with Java 17 or newer preferred.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise Java, Spring, Spring Boot, web services, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices, such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data integration patterns.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and designing scalable, resilient, observable microservices.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications, with Microsoft Azure strongly preferred.
- Effective communication, independent prioritization, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
