About the company
TAE is the world’s first private fusion energy company, founded in 1998 to commercialize the cleanest, safest, most affordable, and sustainable form of carbon-free power. We are applying science and engineering to design transformational technologies. Whether it’s harnessing fusion through the science of stars, making exponential leaps in power efficiency, or innovating medical care with a novel cancer treatment: We’re turning the promise of science into reality., More than 25 years of success and innovation. TAE is the world’s first private fusion energy company, founded in 1998 to commercialize the cleanest, safest, most affordable, and sustainable form of carbon-free power. We are poised to demonstrate net energy in the coming years and seek exceptional colleagues to help solve some of humanity’s most pressing challenges. Targeting our first prototype power plant in the early 2030s, TAE is applying the world’s most advanced science and engineering to build a complete clean energy ecosystem.
Why work for us We are at the forefront of fusion research, with more than 1,600 granted patents, more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, and collaborations with the U.S. Department of Energy, National Laboratories, top universities, and leading research institutions. With more than $1.5 bn in private capital raised, five generations of National Laboratory-scale devices built and the company’s first fusion power plant in development, TAE is now on the cusp of delivering this transformational energy source capable of sustaining the planet for thousands of years.
Training and development We have achieved proof of science with the ability to sustain plasma confinement at will at temperatures exceeding 70 million ºC. We are the first in fusion research history to successfully form an FRC plasma using only neutral beam injection-a breakthrough that significantly reduces the cost and complexity of the FRC technique while improving performance. This achievement led to the creation of our “Norm” machine -a smaller, simpler fusion prototype that sets the standard for more efficient and more cost-effective commercial fusion power. The breakthrough also created a shorter commercial roadmap for TAE, leapfrogging a previously planned sixth research machine to pave the way for the start of TAE’s commercial era with the development of fusion power plant prototype, Da Vinci. With more than $1.5 bn in private capital and more than 1,600 granted patents, TAE is on track to deliver hydrogen-boron fusion to the grid in the early 2030s.
What we are looking for We are a science-first company leading the way in research and development for innovation in fusion technology. Seeking scientists, physicists, engineers, technicians and corporate roles for people who are passionate about realizing our mission: A future where all people have affordable access to reliable, abundant, and environmentally friendly, fusion-generated electricity.
