Job description

Monitor network traffic and security events using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect potential threats and anomalies.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and research to identify system weaknesses, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
Manage and configure firewalls such as Cisco ASA to control access and protect network boundaries.
Implement and maintain security protocols aligned with ISO 27001, ISO 27002, NIST standards, and other relevant frameworks to ensure compliance.
Investigate security incidents through detailed analysis of logs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other cybersecurity tools.
Perform risk management framework (RMF) activities including system security plans, security risk assessments, and incident response planning.
Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to harden systems, manage encryption protocols, and support cloud security engineering initiatives across platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Requirements

Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), IPsec VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP stack, and network architecture.
Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE for identity management and access control; Cisco routers and Juniper network devices are a plus.
Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), Debian, Solaris, macOS; familiarity with openSUSE or BSD is advantageous.
Knowledge of security engineering principles including system hardening (SELinux), load balancing, high availability configurations, disaster recovery planning, and system security hardening practices.
Expertise in cybersecurity tools such as Splunk or SolarWinds for log analysis; Fiddler or Burp Suite for application security testing; Nmap for network scanning; PRTG for network monitoring; New Relic for performance insights.
Experience with encryption methods like PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), SSO (Single Sign-On), LDAP authentication mechanisms; familiarity with FIPS standards enhances your profile.
Ability to perform vulnerability research, vulnerability management processes including assessment and remediation; familiarity with PCI DSS compliance requirements is beneficial.
Strong analytical skills in threat detection & response; incident management; incident recovery procedures; knowledge of open-source scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
