Job description
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity architectures utilizing tools such as firewalls, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), and endpoint detection solutions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and security risk analyses aligned with industry standards like ISO 27001, ISO 27002, NIST frameworks, and FISMA guidelines to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Manage network security components including LAN, WAN, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), VPNs, IPsec tunnels, Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco ISE for identity management, and network architecture design.
- Lead incident response activities by investigating security events using SIEM tools like Splunk or SolarWinds; coordinate incident recovery efforts; perform system hardening and threat detection & response.
- Oversee security system administration across operating systems such as Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS), macOS, and UNIX variants; implement system security plans and conduct regular vulnerability research.
- Collaborate on cloud security engineering initiatives within platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform; ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to best practices including high availability and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and enforce information security policies in compliance with standards such as PCI DSS, FedRAMP, COBIT; support IT governance initiatives including risk management frameworks like RMF and DIACAP.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering with a strong background in computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN design, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), load balancing, and network support.
- Hands-on expertise with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk or similar), IDS/IPS systems, EDR solutions (Endpoint Detection & Response), Nmap for network scanning, Burp Suite for web application testing, Fiddler for traffic analysis, and Terraform or Ansible for automation.
- Deep understanding of information security standards including ISO 27001/27002/27000 series, NIST standards (such as SP 800-53), FIPS compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of encryption technologies (SSL/TLS), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), system hardening techniques (SELinux), and open-source tools for vulnerability research.
- Experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure including SAN storage systems (Storage Area Network), VMware vSphere virtualization environments, cloud architecture (IaaS/PaaS), and network engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical skills in security assessment & vulnerability management; ability to perform threat intelligence analysis; proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH or Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
