Principal/Lead Systems Engineer

RFD Beaufort, Inc. (Her Firestone) seeks a Principal/Lead Systems Engineer to drive the design and integration of complex renewable energy systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. You will define system architecture, reliability, and security standards while guiding grid interconnection, EMS/SCADA integration, and performance optimization. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you’ll lead technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards, directly advancing Her Firestone’s mission to deliver innovative, eco-friendly energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and integration of large-scale solar and renewable energy systems
• Define system architecture, reliability, security, and scalability standards
• Oversee grid interconnection, EMS/SCADA integration, and performance optimization
• Guide implementation of monitoring, diagnostics, and control systems
• Drive technical roadmaps and evaluate new clean-energy technologies
• Collaborate with project, operations, and field teams on utility-scale deployments
• Establish engineering best practices, documentation, and review processes
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and industry standards
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and technical presentations to stakeholders
