• Design, build, and maintain accessible, user-centered interfaces for enterprise web applications, using DevExpress components where they fit.
• Review existing screens and workflows and design solutions that improve usability, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Make sure your work meets WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508, and test it with assistive technologies.
• Work across the stack in C# and SQL Server, including the T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and views behind UI features.
• Connect front-end features to internal and external systems through RESTful APIs.
• Write technical design specifications, unit tests, and clear technical and design documentation.
• Support QA, usability testing, and release processes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, customers, UX and design partners, operations, and other technology teams.
• Deliver well-tested, production-ready work within established timelines.

This is a senior, hands-on role for a software engineer who is strong on the front end, understands UI/UX design, and has practical experience building accessible web applications. You’ll work on complex enterprise applications built on ASP.NET MVC 5. You’ll turn business and user needs into interfaces that are clean, easy to use, and fully accessible.

Most of the work is on the front end, but this is a full-stack .NET role that also involves C# and SQL Server. You’ll be working in an established enterprise codebase, so you should be comfortable getting up to speed quickly and working independently.

Tech stack: ASP.NET MVC 5, .NET Framework, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, DevExpress, Windows, * 5 to 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on front-end and UI development.

• Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3 (including responsive and adaptive layouts), JavaScript, and jQuery, with a habit of writing clean, semantic, maintainable markup.
• Experience applying UI/UX design principles to real product interfaces, including information architecture, interaction design, visual hierarchy, and usability best practices.
• Hands-on experience building and testing for WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508 compliance.
• Practical experience with ARIA roles and attributes, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, focus management, and testing with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
• Strong proficiency in C# and ASP.NET MVC 5, plus experience developing and supporting full-stack .NET applications in a Windows environment.
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, data modeling, and writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
• A firm grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and core computer science principles.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating front-end interfaces with internal and external systems.
• Experience with unit testing and supporting QA, usability testing, and releases, along with a strong understanding of the SDLC and engineering best practices.
• The ability to analyze requirements, debug complex UI and cross-browser issues, and deliver reliable, polished work.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevExpress UI components and reporting tools.
• Formal training or certification in UX design, accessibility (such as IAAP CPACC or WAS), or human-centered design.
• Experience conducting or supporting usability testing, accessibility audits, or design reviews.
• Familiarity with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools, and experience turning designs into accessible front-end code.
• Experience with financial aid, student systems, or higher education data.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy .NET applications, especially the front-end layer.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and source control such as Git.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to advocate for users and accessibility with technical and non-technical audiences.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Hourly Pay Rate: $80-$90
