Network Support Engineer - ACI and Firewalls

We’re looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join a busy operations team supporting a large Banking client project across enterprise networks and Data Centre networks.

This is primarily a BAU operations and troubleshooting role, rather than a project or deployment-focused position. You’ll play a key role in resolving network and security incidents, troubleshooting complex issues across a mixed technology stack.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing 3rd-line network and security support across a complex banking environment.
• Investigating and resolving BAU incidents, faults and service issues.
• Troubleshooting across multiple network and security technologies.
• Working as part of a team that is continuing to consolidate systems, access and processes following a merger.
• Supporting occasional project and change activity alongside the core BAU workload.
• Participating in scheduled out-of-hours changes, typically Friday evening through Sunday, with the workload shared across the team.
• Working closely with the NOC, which provides the primary on-call coverage.
• Maintaining a high standard of technical documentation, investigation and incident resolution.

• 8+ years’ experience in network implementation, support or network security engineering.
• CCNP certified as a minimum baseline.
• Strong hands-on network and security troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• A proactive approach and strong work ethic - attitude and approach are as important as certifications.
• Comfortable working within an environment where systems, processes and access arrangements are still being consolidated following a merger.
• Experience working in a high-availability or business-critical environment is highly desirable, particularly within financial services / banking.
