Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Registry & Data Manager to take ownership of student records, data quality and registry operations within a busy education environment.

This is a key management position combining data, compliance, systems and team leadership. You’ll be responsible for ensuring student and course information is accurate, reliable and delivered within important statutory deadlines, while managing teams responsible for registry and attendance.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the Registry and Attendance teams, including workload management, development and performance.
  • Overseeing student records, attendance processes and related policies.
  • Taking operational ownership of statutory student data submissions, ensuring information is accurate, compliant and submitted on time.
  • Investigating data discrepancies, identifying root causes and coordinating corrections.
  • Managing internal and external audits relating to student data and funding compliance.
  • Working with senior colleagues to ensure course, student and funding information is accurate.
  • Overseeing course changes, leavers’ processes, destinations data and waiting lists.
  • Managing the organisation’s timetabling processes and ensuring changes are accurately reflected within the relevant systems.
  • Coordinating key student-facing events involving registration, enrolment and timetable information.
  • Acting as a key user of student information systems, supporting colleagues with training, documentation and technical queries.

Requirements

You’ll bring substantial experience working with student records, registry or management information within an education setting, alongside strong knowledge of statutory student data requirements and funding rules. You’ll also need:

  • Experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when working with high volumes of data.
  • The ability to organise competing priorities around fixed deadlines.
  • Confidence using management information systems and data-reporting tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and a good understanding of data management.
  • Experience of timetabling and/or student data audit would be advantageous.
  • Clear and confident communication skills when working with colleagues at all levels.
