We are seeking a hands-on Network Infrastructure Technician (PC Technician) to install, maintain, and support physical network infrastructure across multiple facilities.

This position will focus heavily on structured copper and fiber-optic cabling, equipment racks, patch panels, network closets, IDFs, and data center infrastructure. The technician will be responsible for running, terminating, testing, certifying, and labeling network cabling while maintaining clean, organized, and standards-compliant installations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a cabling, fiber optics, patch panels, cable testing, rack installation, and cable management and will work closely with network and server teams on equipment installations, moves, additions, and changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, run, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a copper cabling.
• Install, terminate, test, and support fiber-optic cabling.
• Install and terminate patch panels, keystone jacks, fiber enclosures, and related structured cabling components.
• Test and certify network cable runs using appropriate cable testing and certification equipment.
• Document cable certification and testing results.
• Rack, mount, and physically install servers, switches, UPS units, network equipment, and other IT hardware.
• Maintain physical infrastructure within data centers, network closets, telecommunications rooms, and IDFs.
• Dress, bundle, route, secure, and label network cabling to maintain clean and serviceable racks and pathways.
• Maintain and improve cable management throughout network and data center environments.
• Identify and remediate legacy cabling and remove abandoned cable runs when required.
• Install cable pathways, including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and wall penetrations.
• Maintain consistent labeling standards for cables, patch panels, racks, and network infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate as-built documentation, patch-panel maps, wiring records, and rack elevations.
• Support equipment moves, additions, and changes across multiple locations.
• Assist network and server engineers with physical connectivity requirements and equipment installations.
• Troubleshoot physical cabling and connectivity issues.
• Maintain inventory of cabling supplies, connectors, tools, and related materials.
• Follow established safety procedures and industry standards during installations and maintenance.
• Perform additional network infrastructure and technical support responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of structured cabling practices for copper and fiber-optic infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a cabling.
• Experience with fiber-optic cabling, termination, splicing, and testing.
• Experience installing and terminating patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber enclosures.
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards and industry best practices.
• Experience using cable testers, certification equipment, and related diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret cable testing and certification results.
• Knowledge of proper cable management, routing, bundling, and labeling practices.
• Familiarity with data center, IDF, MDF, and telecommunications room environments.
• Experience physically installing and mounting servers, switches, UPS systems, and network equipment.
• Understanding of rack layouts, power considerations, and equipment airflow.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and technical documentation.
• Ability to maintain accurate labeling, inventory, and infrastructure documentation.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts.
• Ability to work in ceilings, under raised floors, telecommunications spaces, and other areas required for cabling installations.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment, cabling materials, and related hardware as required by the position.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with network, server, infrastructure, and other technical teams., * Previous experience supporting large-scale, multi-site network infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in data centers, MDFs, IDFs, and enterprise network closets.
• Experience with both copper and fiber-optic structured cabling.
• Experience performing cable certification and maintaining test documentation.
• Familiarity with network switches, servers, UPS systems, and other rack-mounted IT equipment.
• Experience with infrastructure moves, additions, changes, and facility buildouts.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clean, organized, professionally labeled cabling installations.
