Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple facilities.

This position will be responsible for switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, and inter-site connectivity within a large-scale enterprise environment. The Network Engineer will work extensively with Cisco, Extreme Networks, and Fortinet technologies while ensuring network availability, reliability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on network engineering experience and the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, monitor network performance, support infrastructure upgrades, and collaborate with server, security, and application teams., * Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Support networking environments utilizing Cisco, Extreme Networks, and Fortinet technologies.
• Configure and administer firewall policies, VPN tunnels, and secure remote access solutions.
• Maintain reliable site-to-site connectivity across multiple facilities and locations.
• Monitor network circuits and coordinate with telecommunications carriers and vendors regarding outages, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
• Monitor network performance and utilization to identify potential capacity, reliability, and performance issues.
• Analyze network utilization trends and recommend infrastructure improvements and modifications.
• Configure and maintain VLANs, routing, switching, network segmentation, and access control lists (ACLs).
• Apply firmware upgrades, software updates, and security patches to network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, routing, switching, firewall, and wireless issues.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, technical documentation, configuration records, and device backups.
• Support network security and compliance requirements through appropriate segmentation and access controls.
• Evaluate new networking technologies and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
• Assist with planning and executing network upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure changes.
• Coordinate with server, cybersecurity, application, and other technical teams to troubleshoot issues and support enterprise systems.
• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve infrastructure and connectivity issues.
• Perform additional network engineering and infrastructure responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including:
• Routing and switching
• VLANs
• Network segmentation
• Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• TCP/IP
• VPN technologies
• Enterprise wireless networking
• Hands-on experience administering Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience with Extreme Networks infrastructure.
• Experience administering Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and networking technologies.
• Strong understanding of firewall administration and network security principles.
• Experience configuring and supporting VPNs and secure remote access solutions.
• Experience supporting enterprise wireless networks.
• Knowledge of network monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning.
• Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and performance issues.
• Ability to perform network infrastructure changes while minimizing disruption to production operations.
• Experience maintaining network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and backups.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, vendor, and technical support teams., * Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site enterprise network environments.
• Experience working in environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with CJIS or similar security/compliance frameworks.
• Experience coordinating with telecommunications carriers and third-party network vendors.
• Experience participating in enterprise network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Strong network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and capacity planning experience.
