Job Developer

The Job Developer is responsible for establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships with businesses, agencies, employers, contractors, and industry stakeholders throughout the Twin Cities Metro area to support KOM’s RPO Employment & Career Support Program. This role focuses on expanding employment opportunities and increasing successful job placements for newly arrived immigrant community members, particularly individuals with limited English proficiency and significant barriers to employment.

The Job Developer will work closely with the Employment Counselor to understand program participant needs, strengths, employment goals, and potential barriers to ensure appropriate job placement and alignment. The Job Developer may support the Employment Counselor by assisting with job applications during group placement events, providing employer-specific interview preparation, and making targeted résumé updates as needed to align with employer expectations and job requirements.

The Job Developer will advocate for placed clients and serve as a key resource in addressing and resolving placement-related challenges to support participant retention and success. This position will play an integral role in maintaining positive employer relationships, ensuring participant satisfaction, and strengthening partnerships that contribute to successful long-term employment outcomes., * Building and maintaining relationships with employers and providers, tracking contacts and share job openings with the program and if needed with the ECS Collaborative

• Provide timely connections between participants and current openings and monitor placement retention, mediating solutions when concerns or challenges arise
• Market the benefits of working with KOM participants to prospective employers
• Develop understanding of the needs faced by individual employers and contribute to continuous program improvement efforts
• Keep current with workforce trends and updated labor market information by researching web sites, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with various trade schools and professional/community organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities.

• Experience with talent acquisition, recruiting, talent sourcing, candidate engagement, talent pipeline development, employer engagement, relationship management, workforce development, career development, and job development
• Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
• Ability to network effectively and speak persuasively to diverse constituents
• Leadership skills in conflict intervention, negotiation, and decision-making
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, and good driving record. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for work.
• Must pass a criminal background check, * A passion and desire to advocate for immigrant adults facing barriers to employment which need to be identified and solved
• Two or more years of experience in employment services, workforce development, human resources, or in a position responsible for hiring talent
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, and internet research
• Knowledge of private, local, state, and federal agencies involved in job development and job training and placement.
• Marketing or public relations experience
• Demonstrated experience coordinating a variety of projects simultaneously and on projects requiring a high level of collaboration and organization
• Experience planning, organizing, and leading meetings
• Knowledge of refugee resettlement issues and services available to refugees in Minnesota
