KDOT does not provide sponsorships for this position., This IT Support Analyst I position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This is routine technical work advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment. Work involves supporting computer and storage hardware, system software, and commercial office automation software packages., * Planning, installation, and operation of microcomputer local area (LAN) or wide area (WAN) networks
- Conduct in-house training on hardware and software products
- Provide technical assistance to both end users and Bureau personnel. Repair, maintain, and install computer hardware such as peripheral equipment and systems. Install, update, and troubleshoot software and applications.
- Image new devices and perform imaging backups for redeployment or replacement. Inventory, Assets & PCR360. Maintain, update, and troubleshoot Windows base images. Prepare surplus hardware through sanitization and inventory removal.
- Maintain inventory records for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Coordinate device shipping and receiving.
- Create and maintain internal technical documentation and how-to guides. Contribute to the internal Knowledge Base for common user issues. Use PowerShell for administrative scripting and basic automation when required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and six months advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered., * Independent work experience in systems software, including network administration and electronic mail messaging systems.
- Experience working with Microsoft’s Active Directory and Microsoft Office.
- Experience providing technical support to end users in an IT Service Desk environment.
