Senior Consultant, Management Information Services-Level B-Data Champion Team Lead

Under the direction of the Director, Systems and Programming, leads the reporting and business intelligence team within Data & Analytics, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data solutions that align with facility and organizational goals. Serves as the working lead for Epic reporting and dashboard development at Lincoln, applying the measure definitions, build standards, and release controls established by the Director, and validating output before it reaches the requester. Bridges the facility and Central Office Data and Analytics, ensuring facility reporting needs are represented and that facility products remain consistent with system standards. Fosters a collaborative, high-performance environment, promotes continuous improvement, and supports the growth of assigned technical staff., 1. Team leadership. Leads and manages the data champion team of reporting analysts and business intelligence developers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data solutions. Sets clear team goals, defines performance expectations, and ensures alignment with facility and organizational objectives.

1. Work assignment and quality. Assigns tasks, monitors progress, and ensures high-quality results in reporting, analysis, and business intelligence projects. Reviews the work of assigned staff against build standards before release.

2. Epic reporting development. Leads the design, build, and maintenance of Epic reporting at the facility, including Reporting Workbench reports, SlicerDicer sessions, Radar dashboards, and saved report templates. Determines the appropriate Epic reporting tool for a given request rather than defaulting to a single method.

3. Dashboard creation and maintenance. Directs the creation, publication, and ongoing maintenance of dashboards serving executive leadership, committees, service lines, and departments. Maintains dashboards as live products: monitors refresh, corrects breaks, and updates them as definitions, source data, and audiences change.

4. Electronic medical record and source system reporting. Leads reporting drawn from Epic and from other electronic medical record and interfaced source systems, including registries, ancillary systems, and data warehouse environments. Reconciles reporting across sources where the same measure can be produced from more than one, and states which source is authoritative.

5. Application of certified definitions. Applies the certified measure definitions and the facility measure dictionary maintained by the Director. Where a request calls for a definition that does not exist or departs from the certified one, escalates it rather than resolving it locally.

6. Validation before release. Ensures every report and dashboard is validated before release, including reconciliation to the source of record and confirmation with the requesting department. Financial measures are reconciled to the cash-basis reporting of record, and figures drawn from Epic or from committee materials are labeled as not cash basis.

7. Change control. Executes version control, pre-release validation, and advance notice to consuming committees before any measure definition, calculation, or comparison window is altered. Ensures no published measure changes silently between reporting periods.

8. Request intake and turnaround. Manages the day-to-day reporting request queue, including requests routed through the facility intake process and ServiceNow. Scopes each request, confirms what it will and will not answer, and reports turnaround against the published standard.

9. Data quality monitoring. Monitors completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of the source data feeding published reporting. Reports identified defects with an owner and an elapsed age rather than working around them.

10. Reporting inventory. Maintains the production inventory of reports and dashboards, recording owner, source, calculation, refresh cadence, and consuming audience for each, and identifying products no longer consumed for retirement review.

11. Self-service enablement. Trains and supports departmental users in approved self-service reporting, publishes the certified measure set available to them, and monitors self-service output for divergence from certified definitions.

12. Liaison to Central Office and system partners. Acts as the primary working liaison between the facility team and Central Office Data and Analytics, and coordinates with system information technology on Epic reporting access, report certification, and requests requiring system-level action. Reports dependencies gated outside the facility with their age rather than absorbing them.

13. Communication to leadership. Acts as the primary point of contact between the data team and facility leadership, ensuring clear communication of progress, constraints, and opportunities. Provides regular updates to executive leadership and to Data and Analytics leadership on outstanding requests.

14. Collaboration with operating departments. Collaborates with clinical and business departments to understand requirements and ensure data solutions meet operational needs. Identifies where a request would impose new documentation or manual chart review on a clinical unit and escalates it before work begins.

15. Protected health information handling. Ensures reporting output observes minimum necessary standards, that access is granted by role, and that output is delivered only to named recipients and stored only in approved locations.

16. Documentation and continuity. Maintains written build documentation for every recurring product, including source, logic, and refresh, so that no report or dashboard depends on the knowledge of a single individual.

17. Staff development. Provides regular feedback, coaching, and professional development support to assigned staff, including development of Epic reporting capability and relevant certification.

18. Continuous improvement. Promotes continuous improvement and innovation within the team, identifying areas for optimization, and resolves conflicts to sustain a positive and productive working environment.

19. Performs related duties, as assigned.

1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and

2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications. Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years). Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.

3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience., * Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with Epic reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Radar dashboards. Epic Cogito certification preferred.

• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining dashboards for executive and committee audiences.

• Proficiency authoring and validating SQL against relational and dimensional data sources, including Epic Clarity and Caboodle and Snowflake.

• Experience leading a reporting, business intelligence, or analytics team.

• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and team leadership strategies.
