As a Junior Java Developer, you will play a pivotal role in adapting and upgrading existing Java applications, ensuring compliance with the latest LTDS and social security standards. • Adapt and enhance existing Java applications to align with new LTDS and social security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and implement technical solutions.
• Utilize Java 8 (with a view on Java 11), Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and GWT to deliver robust, maintainable code.
• Work with both DB2 and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
• Leverage Gradle for build automation and project management.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Engage in partial remote work, balancing on-site collaboration with flexible work arrangements.
• Contribute to a culture of ownership, innovation, and builder-driven outcomes.

Technical Skills

• Java 8 (required), with exposure to Java 11
• Spring 5.3.X and Spring Boot 2.7.X
• Hibernate 5.5.X
• GWT 2.7
• Gradle 5.x
• DB2 and PostgreSQL (hands-on experience required)

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer
• Strong foundation in Java, Spring, Hibernate, and database technologies
• Builder mindset: proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to delivering impact
• Ability to quickly adapt to new standards and technical requirements
• Experience with social security systems or prior work with Fedris is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ownership mentality: you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English is required
• Knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset
