Job description

  • Ideate, develop, and steward the design of missions, multiplayer modes, objectives, and gameplay experiences through the final stages of polish.
  • Use Unreal Engine and proprietary development tools to create, implement, test, and debug missions and gameplay.
  • Own the overall design, implementation, quality, and player experience of assigned missions and gameplay systems.
  • Create compelling gameplay objectives, challenges, combat encounters, and scripted events using Unreal Engine tools.
  • Collaborate regularly with game designers, technical designers, level designers, artists, and programmers throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Serve as a key design contact for cross-functional teams including Cinematics, VFX, Sound, Programming, Art, and other development disciplines.
  • Integrate gameplay systems effectively within levels to deliver cohesive and engaging multiplayer experiences.
  • Participate actively in design reviews and critique sessions, providing thoughtful feedback on both personal work and the work of peers.
  • Regularly present designs and gameplay implementations to leads and stakeholders.
  • Respond quickly and constructively to feedback, incorporating changes into designs and implementations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve gameplay development workflows, tools, and pipelines.
  • Create, maintain, and update clear and comprehensive design documentation throughout development.

Requirements

We are seeking an inspiring and highly motivated Multiplayer Game Designer with a proven track record of delivering highly engaging, high-quality combat, missions, multiplayer modes, objectives, and gameplay systems within action games.

In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Multiplayer Designer to improve missions and modes while creating compelling gameplay objectives and memorable player experiences. You will collaborate extensively with members of the Design team, Level Art team, programmers, technical designers, and other development disciplines to bring the overall design vision to life.

The ideal candidate combines strong game design fundamentals with hands-on experience using Unreal Engine, visual scripting, gameplay systems, and level-editing tools, along with the ability to take gameplay experiences from initial concept through implementation, iteration, debugging, and final polish., * Professional experience in game design, ideally within action, combat-driven, or multiplayer games.

  • Experience with visual scripting and/or scripting languages, preferably within Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of game design fundamentals, gameplay systems, player experience, gameplay constraints, and narrative integration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience implementing gameplay systems within levels.
  • Experience designing or implementing missions, objectives, combat encounters, multiplayer modes, scripted events, or gameplay scenarios.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary game development environment.
  • Experience with current scripting languages, visual scripting systems, and level editors.
  • Hands-on experience working with game consoles, development environments, and associated tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, iterate, and polish gameplay experiences using development tools.
  • Ability to take ownership of gameplay features from concept through implementation and final polish.
