Applications Developer/Engineer

Our client seeks a Senior Applications Developer/Engineer to lead Atlassian-centered enterprise application modernization. The role will drive Jira and Confluence cloud migrations, deliver Identity and Access Management solutions, engineer and administer Jira and Confluence Data Center, and build custom Jira plugins and integrations. The position will also develop Java and Azure .NET applications, integrate with enterprise systems, and provide technical leadership and mentorship for a development team while ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions., * Lead planning, design, and execution of Jira and Confluence migrations to Atlassian Cloud.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom Jira applications, plugins, and integrations.
• Provide IAM expertise including SSO, MFA, RBAC, authentication, authorization, and directory services integration.
• Administer and maintain Jira Data Center and Confluence Data Center environments.
• Apply software updates, security patches, and version upgrades for Jira, Confluence, WebSphere, and related platforms.
• Build, enhance, and maintain custom Java-based and Azure .NET web applications.
• Modernize legacy applications and migrate them to cloud-based architectures.
• Integrate Jira with external enterprise systems and third-party tools.
• Analyze business requirements and develop technical designs, implementation plans, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and IAM issues.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development team members.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, business analysts, and technical teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system diagrams.

• 10+ years with Jira administration, development, and customization.
• Expertise with Atlassian Cloud, Jira Data Center, and Confluence Data Center including cloud migration.
• Custom development using Java, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL, including stored procedures.
• Experience with Azure technologies including Azure App Services, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure DevOps.
• Identity and Access Management, including SSO, MFA, SAML, Active Directory, LDAP, identity lifecycle, RBAC, and access governance.
• Version control and modern development tools including Git, Eclipse, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps.
• Jira engineering including workflows, JQL, UI customization, Atlassian SDK, Forge development, and plugin development.
• Security configuration including SSL/TLS and HSTS, plus remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Administration of Windows Server and enterprise system integrations.
• Business analysis, project planning, estimation, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Leadership of development efforts, code review, testing, and mentoring.
• Preferred: Atlassian and Azure certifications, FedRAMP and federal support experience, Agile Scrum with Jira, and experience evaluating and remediating Atlassian CVEs.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
