Technology Designer

We are seeking an experienced Technology Designer to support the design and delivery of low-voltage technology and security systems. This position will independently develop coordinated designs and construction documentation, translating owner and project requirements into detailed system layouts, drawings, schedules, narratives, and specifications. The Senior Technology Designer will also remain involved throughout construction, providing technical and construction-administration support. Projects involve a variety of technology and security systems, including structured cabling, audiovisual systems, nurse call, and electronic security. Experience supporting * Healthcare and Data Center facilities* is particularly desirable., * Take ownership of technology-design deliverables while coordinating closely with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams.

• Produce low-voltage system layouts, schedules, details, drawings, design narratives, and technical specifications.
• Develop construction documentation using Revit and other applicable design platforms.
• Coordinate technology and security infrastructure with architectural plans, mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and other project requirements.
• Participate in design-team and owner meetings, document key decisions, and assist with resolution of technical issues.
• Support projects during construction by reviewing submittals for compliance with contract documents and design intent and responding to RFI’s.
• Perform site surveys and construction observations and review applicable system testing documentation.
• Review design deliverables for quality and technical accuracy.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other designers.
• Work with project management to coordinate priorities, workloads, deliverables, and project deadlines.

• 3-5+ years of relevant technology-design or consulting experience and be capable of independently developing coordinated low-voltage drawings and specifications.
• The position requires working knowledge of low-voltage technology and electronic security systems, along with familiarity with applicable industry standards. Strong communication skills, sound technical judgment, and proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office are also required.
• Healthcare and/or Data Center project experience.
• Previous experience working within an architecture/engineering consulting environment.
• BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) and/or Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) Certification.
• Strong Revit and AutoCAD Experience

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
