DATA ANALYST AND REPORTING SPECIALIST

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of seven years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, experience in higher education, advancement, nonprofit fundraising, or a CRM-driven environment preferred; strong SQL skills and experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Cognos, Salesforce CRM Analytics, Power BI, or similar platforms; experience producing recurring and ad hoc reports, analyzing complex datasets, troubleshooting discrepancies, and translating business needs into analytical outputs and process improvements; strong communication, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. PREFERRED: Experience with fundraising systems such as Advance, Salesforce, Blackbaud, or similar platforms; and familiarity with donor segmentation, campaign analysis, portfolio reporting, pipeline analysis, or revenue forecasting.

Discover more about what it’s like to work at MIT., SENIOR DATA ANALYST AND REPORTING SPECIALIST, Sloan Office of External Relations (OER), supports development priorities through reporting, analysis, and business process improvement, with a primary focus on the MIT Sloan Annual Fund. The role develops and maintains reports, dashboards, datasets, and analytical outputs that support annual giving performance, donor behavior analysis, segmentation, campaign execution, portfolio and pipeline visibility, and related management reporting. Responsibilities include interpreting fundraising data, identifying trends and opportunities, improving reporting practices, supporting business definitions and process consistency, and contributing to development-focused projects. The role partners with OER colleagues and central Advancement teams to provide accurate, reliable, and useful decision support while strengthening broader development analytical capacity over time.
