AWS DevOps Engineer

We’re supporting a leading organisation in their search for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join a growing cloud and platform team. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, automating, and supporting modern cloud infrastructure while driving best practice across DevOps, platform engineering, and software delivery. You’ll play a key role in enhancing platform reliability, improving deployment processes, and enabling development teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions at pace. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop, optimise, and support CI/CD pipelines, promoting automation and engineering best practices.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to improve platform performance and resilience.
• Support production environments, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Champion security best practices across cloud infrastructure, applications, and deployment pipelines.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and wider technical teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of platform standards, tooling, and engineering processes.

• Strong hands-on AWS experience across cloud infrastructure and services.
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines within modern engineering environments.
• Solid knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and production support practices.
• Good understanding of cloud security principles and vulnerability management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for automation, DevOps culture, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across technical teams.

Desirable

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions and modern deployment strategies.
• Exposure to platform engineering and cloud-native architectures.
