Knowledge and Systems Management Consultant

The Consultant, reporting to the Head of WFP Innovation Network, is expected to:

1.Develop and drive forward knowledge management content creation, curation and sharing of knowledge and best practices of the Innovation Accelerator and WFP Innovation network:

a. Create and regularly upkeep information repositories, as applicable, to include best practices and lessons learned related to the set-up and implementation of innovation activities for WFP and external partners

b. Identify knowledge management bottlenecks, gaps and create processes and innovative activities to resolve these and further streamline and improve the effectiveness of knowledge sharing;

c.Identify priority audiences, communication channels and platforms for knowledge sharing;

d.Coordinate and collect information and best practice from across WFP and mainstream into the Accelerator and WFP’s corporate knowledge repositories or systems;

e.Provide analysis on project knowledge sharing requirements and information management between the Accelerator, project leads and internal and external stakeholders;

f.Directly draft and publish knowledge pieces including an innovation-wide Lessons learned exercise

g.Contribute towards an enabling environment for knowledge production and sharing

2.Manage and drive the betterment of digital systems to enable effective contribution, reporting and open sharing across WFP Innovation

a. Manage the WFP Innovation Database back-end and content excellence;

b.Continuously drive the iteration and betterment of the database digital system using human centered design and collaboration best practices;c.Diligently edit or oversee the content across the database to safeguard accuracy of content and details;

d.Work across teams at the Accelerator and the WFP Innovation Network to ensure a wide uptake of the database and continuous use, willingly work with others to resolve blockers that may hinder usage of the database;

e.Work across technical teams and the Database vendor team to improve usability, striving for a best-in-class agile database;

f.Act as a focal point for the database, build content to present and sell the database internally and externally;

3.Participate in Monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities:

a.Coordinate and contribute to annual reporting exercises such as the Year In review and the Annual Country Reports by liaising with Country teams and Project teams to gather data and information on the innovations they manage

b.Triangulate data with other sources of information where applicable to verify accuracy and completenessc.Analyse and edit the information collected into readable and usable reports, summaries and insights

d.Provide annual overarching summary of the state of WFP Innovation activities based on these two annual reporting exercises

e.Participate in the M&E working group and contribute to the improvement of M&E practice in the WFP Innovation Network, colleagues and collaborators.

4.Support the overall WFP Innovation Accelerator operations:

a.Provide analysis & content preparation (e.g. presentations, briefs) for corporate priority topics and management meetings;

b.Proactively contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture.

c.Support the Head of the WFP Innovation Network, Innovation Accelerator and the Director of Innovation Division with any other activities as required;

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

• Knowledge management content creation, curation and knowledge sharing led and executed successfully across the entire WFP Innovation ecosystem

• Knowledge and information systems and repositories effectively contributed to, advanced and mainstreamed

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or international development or related areas. Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible international experience in knowledge management, communications and/or business- related positions. Experience in innovation and change management is beneficial.

Knowledge & Skills:

Experience in knowledge management or communication, experience within a global organization advantageous.

Strong conceptual thinking to develop new knowledge management and/or communication activities.

Understanding of knowledge management principles and capacity to deliver knowledge management and/or organizational learning activities.

Ability to produce high-quality written materials, including graphically-based PowerPoint presentations as well as text documents.

Experience using Airtable and willingness to continuously evolve expertise;

Digitally savvy, embracing new tools and software, proficient in online collaboration tools such as Mural and Trello is a plus;

Understanding of communications principles; creating and designing digital assets such as social media posts, blogs, graphics, audio podcasts and videos, a plus.

Able to generate new and original solutions to complex problems and to design new product ideas.

Able to interact with a broad range of stakeholders and external audiences with maturity and tact.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to write strategy documents, develop business plans, and write and deliver presentations.
