Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms) Start ASAP (within 2-4 weeks notice) expected duration 6+ months initially London- Hybrid 2/3 days typically wfh/West London £450-470pd Outside IR35 Must have right to work in the UK and be based near London. Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms) providing technical design and development/implementation of systems that industrialise media workflows. Acting as the primary technical authority for Cloud NAS integration, media ingest pipelines, & automated metadata scripting. Prior experience in the media broadcasting industry, specifically with digital asset management, Cloud NAS, and video ingest or similar workflows is required. You will need strong Cloud DevOps skill set, hands on scripting of either Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development, hands-on expertise with AWS (preferred) or GCP and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) etc Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms) Job Description Main Responsibilities -Lead the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, video ingest, and workflow services. -Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise technology standards. -Design automation, scripting, and API integrations to streamline media processing and operational workflows. -Mentor engineering team members, promoting high-quality software development and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. -Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient releases. -Collaborate with external technology partners to resolve integration and architectural challenges. Skills You’ll Need -Strong experience in platform, cloud, or backend software engineering such as cloud-based media platform components, including storage, ingest, and workflow services. -Proficiency in scripting Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development. -As a senior member of a small technical team you should have an architecture mindset, able to design and code solutions that can scale to numerous digital media channels, platforms and brands. -Hands-on expertise with AWS (preferred) or GCP and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). -Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions. -Experience with digital asset management, cloud storage, or media ingestion platforms. -Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and test-driven development(TDD). Desirable Skills -AWS or GCP professional-level certifications.
