Technical SME - AWS / Azure / IaaS / Terraform

LGL Technologies is seeking an experienced Technical SME Cloud Infrastructure with strong expertise in AWS, Azure, IaaS, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, automating, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure environments. The Technical SME will provide hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, troubleshooting, and mentoring across AWS and Azure cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable IaaS environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Build and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ELB, CloudWatch, and related services.
• Work with Azure services including Virtual Machines, VNets, NSGs, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure IAM, and related services.
• Develop reusable and standardized Terraform modules for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement cloud infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to deliver cloud solutions.
• Implement cloud security, access controls, monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Review existing infrastructure and recommend improvements for scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization.
• Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to cloud and infrastructure engineers.
• Participate in production support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure / cloud engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure.
• Strong knowledge of IaaS and cloud infrastructure architecture.
• Advanced experience with Terraform / Terraform modules.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Experience with cloud networking including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, security groups/NSGs, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, RBAC, security, and cloud governance.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Git and source-control workflows.
• Strong scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps certification.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator / Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Terraform Associate certification.
• Experience with Kubernetes / AKS / EKS.
• Experience with Ansible or other configuration-management tools.
• Experience implementing cloud security and compliance controls.
• Experience with enterprise-scale cloud migrations.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
