Senior Full Stack Software Developer

Spartan Innovations is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to support cloud migration and application modernization initiatives. You will design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain secure, mission-critical applications supporting global transportation and logistics operations. The role requires hands-on React, Java, and Spring experience alongside legacy application modernization, containerization, GitLab CI/CD, Apache Superset analytics, Amazon Aurora migration, infrastructure automation, and DevSecOps security controls. Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain React user interfaces and Java and Spring or Spring Boot back-end services, connecting the full stack through secure APIs and data services.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications, microservices, RESTful APIs, and system-integration components.

• Refactor and modernize legacy applications for deployment within secure AWS cloud environments.

• Containerize applications and supporting services using Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, or comparable technologies.

• Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitLab Runners that automate software builds, testing, security validation, container-image creation, deployment, and release management.

• Integrate automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and security testing into CI/CD workflows.

• Incorporate static and dynamic application security testing, software-composition analysis, dependency scanning, container scanning, secrets detection, and compliance controls into the delivery pipeline.

• Develop, configure, and integrate Apache Superset dashboards, datasets, visualizations, APIs, semantic-layer components, authentication, and role-based access controls.

• Support the modernization and migration of legacy databases to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL or Aurora MySQL.

• Assess and remediate database schemas, stored procedures, data types, queries, indexing, and application dependencies for compatibility with Aurora.

• Optimize database performance, availability, scalability, resiliency, and application connectivity.

• Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, or comparable automation tools.

• Automate the provisioning and configuration of AWS infrastructure, container platforms, databases, networking, monitoring, and application services.

• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, auditing, and operational dashboards using AWS CloudWatch or comparable observability platforms.

• Apply secure coding standards and support DoD cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework, software-assurance, and applicable STIG requirements.

• Troubleshoot application, container, pipeline, database, integration, security, and performance issues across development, test, staging, and production environments.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, architecture reviews, technical design sessions, code reviews, sprint demonstrations, and release planning.

• Prepare and maintain system designs, interface specifications, deployment procedures, pipeline documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and operational runbooks.

• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members in cloud-native development, containerization, database modernization, automation, and DevSecOps practices.

• Eight or more years of professional software-development experience, including the design and delivery of complex enterprise applications.

• Hands-on full stack development experience with React, Java, and Spring or Spring Boot; working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, and relational databases.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems; or one of the following certifications: FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP.

• Ability to satisfy applicable DoD workforce-certification requirements.

• Ability to analyze complex mission and technical requirements and translate them into secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
