Java Engineer - Hybrid

This role is part of an ACH Payments Technology team and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance API services, backend components, and integrations for an Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment origination platform. This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite., * Design, develop, and maintain high performance API services and backend components

• Create integrations that power an ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment origination platform

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong expertise in Spring / Spring Boot, REST API development, and microservices
• Mastery of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
• Experience building highly available, distributed backend systems
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, or similar) and NDM file transfer
• Knowledge of API security patterns (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)

Desired skills:

• Payment domain knowledge (ACH, NACHA), payment file formats (PPD, CCD, CTX)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work in an agile, fast paced environment
• Background in financial services, banking, or regulatory environments
