Microsoft 365 Engineer

The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer serves as the technical lead and escalation point for Microsoft 365 services across the organization. This role is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and security of the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business., Technical Leadership & Escalations

• Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for Microsoft 365-related incidents, service requests, and operational issues.
• Provide subject matter expertise across Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Purview.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts for complex platform issues and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, networking, compliance, and application teams to resolve cross-functional technical challenges.

Microsoft 365 Administration & Engineering

• Work closely with Identity, Security, and Networking teams to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available Microsoft 365 services.
• Manage and optimize Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID integrations.
• Evaluate and implement new Microsoft 365 capabilities, features, and security controls.
• Coordinate with Identity team on Entra ID architecture, authentication methods, conditional access, provisioning, lifecycle management, and access governance.
• Investigate and resolve complex mail flow issues, message trace findings, authentication problems, and hybrid connectivity challenges.
• Analyze Microsoft 365 audit logs, sign-in logs, and service telemetry to identify operational issues and security concerns.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams calling, meeting, collaboration, and quality-of-service issues using advanced diagnostics and reporting tools.
• Provide expert-level support for SharePoint Online and OneDrive access, synchronization, sharing, and performance issues.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Administer and support Microsoft Purview compliance solutions.
• Design and manage sensitivity labels, retention policies, data lifecycle management, and information protection controls.
• Support eDiscovery investigations, legal hold requests, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Review security, compliance, and audit data to identify risks and recommend remediation actions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen governance and data protection strategies.

This individual will lead complex investigations, provide guidance to engineering and support teams, drive operational excellence, and ensure reliable delivery of Microsoft 365 services., * 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise Microsoft technologies.
