Infrastructure Engineer - Data Center Exit Program | W2 role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a major Data Center Exit Program. The successful candidate will provide technical engineering and operational support across infrastructure environments, with a primary focus on Storage and Compute/Virtualization migration workstreams.

This role will be responsible for analyzing technical issues, developing and implementing infrastructure solutions, and supporting migration activities throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful migrations while maintaining business continuity and minimizing operational risk., * Support the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams within the Data Center Exit Program.

• Perform storage migrations and associated infrastructure activities.
• Execute physical server and virtual machine migrations.
• Build and configure target infrastructure environments.
• Participate in system and application testing activities.
• Develop and execute detailed migration and cutover plans.
• Perform migration activities during scheduled evening and weekend maintenance windows.
• Conduct post-migration validation and troubleshoot issues as required.
• Support decommissioning of legacy infrastructure following successful migrations.
• Analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Coordinate closely with application, infrastructure, operations, and business teams.
• Identify potential migration risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, migration plans, and operational procedures.
• Ensure migration activities follow established change management and operational processes.
• Provide hands-on technical support during cutover and post-migration stabilization.

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on experience with storage, compute, virtualization, and server infrastructure.
• Experience performing or supporting infrastructure migrations.
• Experience with server and virtual machine migrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with infrastructure build, configuration, testing, and validation.
• Ability to develop and execute technical migration and cutover plans.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
• Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends during scheduled migration and cutover activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale data center migration or data center exit programs.
• Experience with enterprise storage migration projects.
• Experience with compute/virtualization migration initiatives.
• Experience supporting production cutovers and post-migration validation.
• Strong understanding of change management and IT operational processes.
• Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments., The ideal candidate is a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in storage, compute, virtualization, and infrastructure migrations. The candidate should be comfortable working in a complex enterprise environment, collaborating across technical and business teams, and providing hands-on support during high-impact migration and cutover activities.
