Job description
Our client is looking for an experienced IT Director or CTO to provide senior technology leadership, strategic guidance and oversight across an established technology function. This Fractional IT Director role will see you act as a trusted adviser to the senior leadership team, mentor an existing IT team and provide direction across technology strategy, governance, risk and IT operations.
The business has made significant progress in recent years and is looking for someone who can build on this, support its continued development and help prepare for future investment, rather than undertake a major transformation., * Provide strategic technology leadership and act as a trusted adviser to the senior leadership team
- Provide senior oversight across IT operations, infrastructure, security, governance and technology risk
- Mentor and support the existing technology team, providing guidance, challenge and technical leadership where required
- Support the development and execution of the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives
- Oversee IT suppliers, service delivery, budgets and technology investment
- Support risk management, compliance and technology due diligence in preparation for future investment
- Act as a senior escalation point, helping the team resolve challenges while allowing them to retain ownership of day-to-day delivery, The Fractional IT Director role is a part-time contract opportunity, requiring approximately 2 days per week, with some office presence required in the Midlands. The role is paying circa £600 per day and is expected to operate outside IR35, subject to final arrangements.
Requirements
- Significant experience operating at IT Director, CIO or CTO level
- Broad experience across IT operations, infrastructure, service delivery, security and technology strategy
- Proven experience providing strategic advice and engaging with senior stakeholders, boards or executive leadership teams
- Experience managing IT teams, mentoring technical professionals and overseeing third-party suppliers
- Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, compliance and technology investment
- Experience within private equity-backed or investment-led businesses would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide senior-level guidance while remaining hands-on when required
