Job description

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our team on a contract basis. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications across both the Back End and Front End. Develop and maintain Back End services and APIs using Python and Flask.

Build responsive, modern user interfaces using JavaScript and React.

Design and integrate RESTful APIs between Front End and Back End systems.

Work with databases to design, query, and optimise data storage.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.

Collaborate with product, design, and other technical team members to deliver new features.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.

Ensure applications are secure, performant, and scalable.

Contribute to technical documentation and deployment processes.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Python and Flask on the Back End and JavaScript and React on the Front End, with a practical understanding of building scalable, reliable, and user-friendly applications.

Requirements

Python (Flask) for the Back End and JavaScript (React) for the Front End.

Strong commercial or professional experience in Python.

Hands-on experience developing web applications with Flask.

Strong knowledge of JavaScript and modern Front End development.

Professional experience with React.

Experience building and consuming REST APIs.

Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web development.

Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.

Good understanding of software development principles, debugging, and testing.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver against deadlines.

Nice to Have Experience with TypeScript.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Familiarity with Docker and containerised applications.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
