Job description

  • Leading backend development across multiple products using Laravel
  • Designing, building, and maintaining complex APIs, microservices, and integrations
  • Working closely with the CTO to plan and architect new features and systems
  • Owning database structures, optimisation, and performance tuning
  • Collaborating with designers and front-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Ensuring applications meet high standards of scalability, security, and reliability
  • Overseeing hosting environments (Plesk, cPanel, AWS) and recommending improvements
  • Reviewing code, mentoring junior devs, and helping to raise engineering standards across the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in PHP, with deep knowledge of Laravel
  • Strong database and API development experience
  • Solid front-end understanding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). React or Livewire experience is a bonuss
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and deployment pipelines
  • Strong Git/version control experience and familiarity with modern DevOps workflows
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a passion for writing well-structured, maintainable code
  • Someone who enjoys collaboration, communicates clearly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
