Job description
We’re looking for a Junior Systems Support Technician to join our Liverpool team and help keep everyday technology running smoothly.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing technical problems, working with people, and learning how business systems operate. You’ll receive support from experienced IT colleagues while developing practical skills across systems, devices, applications, and user support.
You do not need extensive experience for this position. A good technical foundation, a willingness to learn, and a reliable approach are more important.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide day-to-day technical assistance to employees.
- Respond to support requests and record issues accurately.
- Troubleshoot common Windows, software, hardware, and connectivity problems.
- Set up laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and other workplace applications.
- Assist with user accounts, password resets, and access requests.
- Help with Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Install approved software and routine system updates.
- Prepare equipment and accounts for new starters.
- Assist with equipment returns and user access changes.
- Maintain basic IT asset and equipment records.
- Follow standard IT security and data protection procedures.
- Escalate more complex issues to senior members of the IT team.
- Assist with hardware upgrades, replacements, and technology projects.
- Keep support documentation clear and up to date.
Requirements
- Some experience in IT support, technical support, help desk, or a similar environment is helpful.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365.
- Comfortable working with computers and common workplace technology.
- Basic understanding of networking and connectivity.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Clear and professional communication.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage support requests and follow established processes.
- Willingness to learn new systems and technical skills.
- Ability to work well with colleagues and users.
- A relevant IT qualification such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or an equivalent is advantageous but not required.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
