Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Customer Service Assistant on behalf of our Birmingham-based client.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded and customer-focused individual to join an established and professional business. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers with enquiries, providing technical information, processing orders and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained throughout.

You will work closely with customers and internal teams, helping to understand customer requirements, resolve queries and ensure the correct products and solutions are provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide technical product information and guidance to customers
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products or solutions
  • Prepare and process quotations and sales orders accurately
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure orders are processed correctly
  • Deal with technical queries and resolve customer issues wherever possible
  • Follow up quotations and customer enquiries
  • Maintain accurate customer and order records
  • Build strong, professional relationships with customers
  • Support the wider sales and customer service team as required
  • Ensure a consistently high level of customer service is provided

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is technically minded, organised and confident when dealing with customers., * Previous experience in a customer service, sales support or technical customer service role

  • A good understanding of technical products, or the ability to learn technical information quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems
  • The ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities effectively
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • A professional and customer-focused attitude
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Industry experience would be advantageous, although a strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn will be considered., If you have excellent customer service skills, a technical mindset and are looking for a Monday-to-Friday role with an early finish every Friday, we would love to hear from you.

Benefits & conditions

  • £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday working hours
  • Choice of 7:00am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Early finish at 1:00pm every Friday
  • No weekend working
