Job description

  • Act as a specialist in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing.
  • Contribute to technical solutions and help maintain high engineering standards.
  • Support and guide developers in improving technical craftsmanship.
  • Share knowledge and stay up to date with developments in Data Engineering and related technologies.
  • Help shape the technical vision, standards and way of working within the chapter.

Leadership & coaching

  • Coach and support chapter members in their personal and professional development.
  • Help developers identify opportunities to improve their skills and craftsmanship.
  • Support performance, growth and career development.
  • Create an environment where people can learn, collaborate and perform at their best.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing across the chapter through collaboration, communities and events.
  • Work closely with the IT Lead and other Chapter Leads as the Chapter Lead role continues to develop., * Take responsibility for HR-related processes such as recruitment, onboarding and performance cycles.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to chapter members.
  • Build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to creating a healthy, inclusive and high-performing culture.

Requirements

We are looking for a senior technical professional who is ready to take the next step towards leadership.

You bring:

  • Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or a closely related technical domain.
  • Hands-on experience with a relevant part of the Microsoft BI / Data Engineering stack.
  • Experience working in a DevOps and/or Agile environment.
  • A genuine interest in coaching, mentoring and developing other professionals.
  • The ability to provide constructive feedback and have open, honest conversations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A proactive mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • The ambition to develop further as a people leader.
  • A calm, approachable and thoughtful communication style that works well within a technical team.

Technical expertise

For this specific chapter, experience with several of the following is relevant:

  • SQL
  • Python
  • Microsoft BI stack
  • SSAS
  • SSRS
  • Power BI
  • Azure
  • Git
  • CI/CD
  • Data Warehouse concepts
  • Kimball methodology

You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed. Strong expertise in the core DWH/Data Engineering domain combined with the ability to learn and guide others is more important.
