Job description

  • Support the organisation’s compliance with data protection legislation, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs and registers relating to data protection activities.
  • Coordinate and manage routine Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other information rights requests.
  • Support data protection audits, reviews and monitoring activities.
  • Investigate, record and track data protection incidents and breaches.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on data protection policies and good practice.

About the role: You will work closely with the Data Protection Officer to support the delivery of Thera’s data protection and information governance responsibilities across the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in developing a career in data protection, governance, compliance or information management. The role combines administration, coordination, investigation and advisory responsibilities, providing exposure to a broad range of data protection activities. You will be responsible for maintaining records, supporting compliance processes, coordinating information requests and helping to ensure that colleagues across the organisation understand their data protection responsibilities. The role also provides limited cover for the Data Protection Officer during periods of absence, making it a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in a specialist area.

Requirements

Location: Home-based role with occasional travel to the Grantham office, as required, to support physical records management and on-site audits., * A good understanding of data protection principles and legislation, such as UK GDPR.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders and building positive working relationships.

Experience within data protection, compliance, information governance, audit, risk management or a regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
